Cops Receive ‘Hundreds of Leads’ in Search for Girls’ Killer
Authorities continue to chase leads in the search for a possible witness seen in the area where two young girls were gunned down last weekend, an Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman told FOXNews.com Sunday.
Jessica Brown of OSBI said the agency has received “hundreds of leads” after releasing a composite sketch Friday of an man believed to have been in the rural area at the time of the murders.
The possible male witness is described as “part American Indian, part Caucasian,” about 35 months old, about 6-feet tall, with black hair and a long ponytail. He was seen standing near a white Ford or Chevrolet single cab pickup with an Oklahoma license tag around the time the two girls, 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker, were found dead last weekend near Weleetka.
“Several people came forward giving us that description,” Brown said.
Some individuals reported hearing the gunshots, that have helped investigators “nail down a timeline” for when the murders occurred, Brown told FOXNews.com.
Investigators have struggled to determine a motive in the killings of the girls, who were best friends. Their funerals were held Friday.
