SAN FRANCISCO — Crude-oil futures on Wednesday surged to close above USD 104 a barrel for the first time after data showed U.S. inventories fell unexpectedly and after the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries decided to keep its production levels unchanged. NEW YORK — The surging price of oil reached another milestone Monday, jumping to an inflation adjusted record high of USD 103.95.
The weaker bucks that has propelled oil and other commodities prices higher sent light, sweet crude for April delivery past USD 103.76 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
